2006 Merlot – Napa – “Ivanoff” – In the picturesque upper Lovall Valley, our high-grown Merlot is bursting with classic flinty flavors.  Moderately oaked to showcase the fruit, this vineyard is cultivated to only 1½ tons per acre.  Amazing!

2006 Cabernet Francorganically grown, our “powerhouse” Cabernet Franc delivers armloads of fruit and briar. The oak was intentionally top-note but modest, to give the extraordinary Cab Franc the limelight.

2006 Syrah – Napa - “Lavender Field”The Borneman’s Lavender Ranch grows the most luscious yard of Syrah in their ‘front acreage’.  Huge sweet berries deliver a classic mid-tone Syrah with plenty of fruit and oak, without the ‘barn yard’ tones usually associated with Syrah.

_____

2006 Primitivo – Lovall Valley - NAPA Just like its closest cousin (Zinfandel), the Lovall Valley Primitivo pulls through with that amazing “fresh wine” aroma and flavor.  The tiny vineyard produces only about a ton and a half, so we are very limited in this variety!

2006 MerBec™  With the same unique marriage of flavors that fortuitously combine to make the SyrBec™ such an unusual and yet approachable cup, so too does the marriage of Merlot and Malbec bring out what Merlot is often missing: a foundation. Excellent with lamb and chicken alike.

2006 Touriga National “Strasse” The “national treasure” of Portugal, the incredibly floral Touriga is made entirely on its own in this very rare release. The “strasse” moniker comes from an accidental spill that lost half of the wine before it had a chance to ferment.  But … serendipity again worked for it: it concentrated the flavor to such an intensity as to be unique even amongst Tourigas.
